Last Friday we got the green light to list a new home for sale and to “relaunch” a home that was for sale but needed some sprucing up. This means shopping – and quickly – to get both homes looking their best. So what was in my shopping cart? Here’s a quick snapshot:
For the move-in condition home:
-
Pretty new duvet cover (We want the master bedroom to look comfy & inviting.)
-
New pillows & pillow cases
-
Plush new towels for each bathroom
-
Pretty soap dispensers & other little accessories for each bathroom. (We cleared the counters of all other items.)
-
Fresh flowers and potted plants (Live plants make the home feel more vibrant.)
For the home in need of updates:
-
Kitchen cabinet knobs in brushed nickel (Say goodbye to brass!)
-
Three new ceiling light fixtures (This is an easy & inexpensive way to update the look of the home.)
-
Case of white vinegar (good for removing wallpaper)
-
Five gallons of linen white paint with primer
-
Three matching drought-resistant shrubs Two large decorative planters
-
Two plants (I have no idea what these are but they’re quite pretty. Fortunately our landscape designer/plant expert extraordinaire was on hand to make lovely selections for us!)
Did these little changes make a difference? Stay tuned to find out! 🙂
