Boston Real Estate Note: New Home Sales Across Massachusetts

Here’s an interesting bit of data about the health of Massachusetts real estate market. While the national rate of new-home sales remains at record low rates, the news is somewhat better closer to home. Looking at new homes in the MLS over the same timeline as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Census Bureau report, 107 new single family homes sold for an average price of $537,559 in August, compared with 114 single family homes sold for an average price of $538,001 in August 2009.
