Tickets are now on sale for the highly-anticipated Downton Abbey-inspired Garden Party at Elm Bank Reservation in Wellesley. The site is home to a dozen gardens, including one of the area’s only Italianate gardens, designed by the Olmsted Bros firm.
To be held Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2013, the event will offer guests an opportunity to:
• Stroll through exquisite gardens
• Admire vintage fashions from Augusta Auction Company
• Enjoy delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from the Catered Affair
• Watch a match by New England’s premier cricket team
• Hear music by the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra’s String Ensemble
• Enter to win luxury prizes
Guest are encouraged to dress in their finest Downton-era attire and enter to win the best costume and best hat prizes.
The fundraiser will support the Massachusetts Horticultural Society’s Garden to Table program (www.masshort.org), which provides organic produce to families in need and gives the community an opportunity to learn about growing, cooking, and preserving healthy food. Last year, the garden produced nearly 4,000 pounds of produce for two local food pantries.
