Dover-Sherborn, Hopkinton, Needham, Newton South, Wayland, Wellesley, and Weston High Schools were among the schools in Massachusetts ranked as Gold Medal Schools in the 2012 U.S. News & World Report's ranking of Best High Schools in the Country. Gold Medal schools are considered to be the top in the country for college readiness.

Dover-Sherborn High School earned the coveted #1 spot in the 2011 Boston Magazine ranking of Top Massachusetts High Schools. District rankings include test scores, per pupil spending, student to teacher ratio, number of AP classes, graduation rate, percent of students who continue to college, as well as the amount of sports teams and clubs.
